Take the Chaos out of the Code
The ultimate app for healthcare providers to quickly document and instruct critical interventions during cardiac arrest resuscitation events.
Powerful. Accurate. Simple.
CodeAssist™ is a novel iOS application that provides structure and guidance in the running of a cardiac arrest by leveraging recorded data to create a real-time heads-up display, improving crash team dynamics, organization, response time, and reporting.

CodeAssist™ makes it simple to log, track, and edit resuscitation data all through an intuitive interface without communication barriers.
Real-Time Heads Up Display
CodeAssist™ follows ALCS and PALS algorithms to display the most important information for the code leader during the event including evidence-based protocols.
Live Timers
Time-based event procedures such as Pulse / Rhythm Check, Shock, Pressors, and Medication Treatments are tracked and recorded to automatically guide and synchronize team based on the latest ALCS and PALS algorithms. By leveraging this data against the AHA guidelines, recommendations are presented to help reduce the cognitive burden and improve team communications.
- Master Timer for overall code duration
- Track other asynchronous tasks
- Counters to keep everyone in sync on the current state of the code

Event Feeds
All resuscitation events such as pre-arrival procedures and times, initial rhythm, pulse checks, shocks, epinephrine administrations, etc. are entered on a separate device and analyzed in real-time to generate actionable and concentrated data which is then displayed on an external screen in the resuscitation area. All active code events are tracked from pre-hospital time, start and end times, down and up time to resuscitations goals, medications, and more.
- Presents a list of all recent activity

Audio alerts and on-screen Warnings
Team organization, synchronization, and dynamics are key. CodeAssist™ automatically notifies all team members of upcoming critical actions in a non-intrusive manner reducing dependence on verbal communication for CPR Cycle Duration, alert before the pulse check, Pulse Check, vasopressor dosage intervals, chest compression fraction, shock advisement, and CPR Prolonged pause.
- Large pop-up alters for the most critical actions
- Audio alert with text to speech to grab attention
- Customizable and can be disabled

Resuscitation goals and guidance
Improve the quality of care and efficiency by tracking live events against resuscitation goals that are visually shown on the display screen such as CCF, End Tidal CO2, Diastolic Blood Pressure, Coronary Perfusion Pressure. Our Code Helper guidance feature is a built-in smart assistant that analyzes the code in real-time to suggest the next steps.
- Makes recommendations based on the input information and current time status
- Works in tandem with pop up alerts
- Recommendations can be configured based on goals/settings

Cumulative metrics and QI analysis
After code completion, a full comprehensive report can be generated and transferred to an EHR. Quality improvement information may be automatically added to this report to track various useful metrics or be used as a post-resuscitation debriefing tool.
- Contain all timers, events, and cumulative tracked data of the code
- Optional QI data to drive improvement
- Easily added to any EHR note
- RAW data export in JSON format supported
- Old codes are archived within the app and can be exported

Rhythm Information
Set, manage, and track rhythm types, times and counts during code based on patient’s status such as ROSC, Shockable, and Non-Shockable. CodeAssist™ automatically tracks the uptime and downtime of patient.
- Rhythm Bar for critical information on cardiac rhythms

Who is Using CodeAssist™?
In-Hospital Response Teams
Providers in the Emergency Department, ICUs and other areas responding to cardiac arrests throughout the hospital, including experienced practitioners looking to refine their skills and new providers with limited experience.
Training Programs
The application includes aids for teaching and integrates well into high-fidelity simulation centers, tabletop simulations and in situ simulation.
Quality Improvement Teams
Generate shareable reports with QI data to guide performance and quality improvement.
Emergency Medical Services
Emergency response crews can use the application to log prehospital data, including duration of downtime, medications utilized and procedures – allowing for a seamless handoff to Emergency Departments.
